Vibration, presence, and the practice of deep listening
What is Sound Meditation?
The easiest way to meditate- just follow the sound.
Sound meditation is a practice of deep listening that uses vibration, resonance, and silence to support relaxation and inner awareness. During a session, participants rest comfortably while instruments such as singing bowls, chimes, voice, and other resonant sounds unfold through the space.
Rather than concentrating on a single thought or trying to quiet the mind by force, you are invited to listen, feel, and notice. Sound can become an anchor for presence, helping attention move away from mental noise and toward the body, breath, and subtler layers of experience.
Each session is different. Some people experience deep rest, emotional release, vivid imagery, or a meditative sense of spaciousness. Others simply enjoy a peaceful pause from the pace of everyday life. No prior experience is needed.
I also lead a monthly sound meditation at Tibet House in New York City with Soul Through Sound, created in collaboration with Franck Raharinosy.
